Perzische schilderkunst
Bladen uit Perzische boeken, geschilderd tussen ongeveer 1340 en 1740. Isfandiyar tegenover zijn draak, derwisjen die in een tuin ronddraaien, vogels die samenkomen bij een beek, twee geliefden die tegen elkaar aan leunen op een gouden ondergrond. Het Shahnameh van Firdausi leverde de meeste verhalen. Riza-yi 'Abbasi en de schilders om hem heen werkten klein, in heldere mineraalkleuren en goud, en lieten een rand met schrift om de voorstelling heen lopen.
Als legpuzzel
Een legpuzzel om rustig aan te doen. De kleur ligt vlak en helder, dus een stukje scharlaken mantel of gouden lucht hoort ergens duidelijks, en de getrokken lijst geeft je een heldere lijn om langs te bouwen. Het schrift in de marges is het trage deel, want de ene regel lijkt sterk op de volgende. Dertien van de veertien zijn hoger dan breed.
